Non-Bailwable Warrant against Vijay Mallya and 4 other Kingfisher executives

Kingfisher airline is hitting with the biggest threat as on Friday Hyderabad court has issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) against KFA Chairman Vijay Mallya under the charge of dishonouring Rs 10.5 crore cheques issued in favour of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL).

Along with Mallaya, KFA’s CEO Sanjay Aggarwal and three other directors has also come under this charge of not appearing before court in connection to GHIAL’s cheques bounce case, the company managing the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.

“GHIAL had filed four cheque bounce cases against Kingfisher Airlines amounting to Rs10.50 crore. The cases were listed today for the airline to appear in the court. Since they failed to appear before the magistrate, the court has ordered issuance of NBW against KFA , Mr Vijay Mallya and four other KFA officials. At this stage GHIAL, would not like to comment more,” a spokesperson of GHIAL told reporters.

Reports said, four cheques totalling Rs.10.5 crore which were issued towards users charges since January this year to GHIAL were dishonoured as presented for clearance, and when KFA failed to make payment, GHIAL filed a case in the special court under the Negotiable Instruments Act in August. Following which a legal notice to be present for hearing on October 12 were served on Kingfisher Airlines, Vijay Mallya, Sanjay Agarwal and three others but they did not.

Now, all KFA Senior members would have to present in court in connection of case hearing on November 5, otherwise the case is forward to High Court for next hearing.
