Pranab Mukherjee starts campaign with Karunanidhi’s blessings

Seeking a hit for Presidential candidature, UPA’s nominate Pranab Mukherjee has arrowed point via his campaign started on Saturday from Chennai.

The Presidential polls will be started from 19 July and Mukherjee has filled his all nomination papers to enter the race of the Rashtarpati Bhawan.

Addressing his first speech at Mr. Karunanidhi’s CIT Colony residence at Sathyamurthy Bhavan, Mukherjee, appealed all political parties, an indirect move to Trinamool Congress that are yet never take a decision to whom it support in elections, requested to pass to him, reports said.

Interacting with media persons, he said, “Most political parties cutting across various alliance formations have extended their support to the UPA candidate. Hence I request those political parties which are yet to take a decision to support the UPA candidate.”

Mukherjee started his campaign with the blessings and support of DMK president M. Karunanidhi, ally of UPA. Before it, he met with DMK president whose party welcomed him by traditional nagaswaram music, Kerala’s ‘chenda melam’ and western band, source said.

“I am delighted that the Congress president and UPA chairperson offered me the august post, which was endorsed by leaders of all political parties who were present at the UPA meeting,” Mukherjee told reporters after greet with warm welcome.

As like of his predecessor Pratibha Patel, Mukherjee also chose Chennai to start his campaign. It has been said that major reason may be chances of less votes from Tamil Nadu since the ruling AIADMK commands brutal majority in the state legislature, source reported. So he has chosen the city first with support of DMK MP to raise more response from the crowd.

It is sought that if Mukherjee will be the next President chances of clear Constitution with specific purpose are more as per Mukherjee’s giving assurance. Undoubtedly, Mukherjee has more chances to win the Post as has specified numbers.
