Suspended TMC leader arrested, threatening hospital staff at gun point

A suspended Trinamool Congress leader, Ashish Dey has been arrested by West Bangal’s Police after capturing CCTV footage in which he allegedly threatening the staff of a private nursing home at gun point in a verbal spat.

The whole incident happened in Birbhum district on Friday night, shivering the TMC with new controversy at time of Lok Sabha Polls.

Moreover, 5 non-bailable warrants has issued against him and asked to produce in a court today as arrested under the Arms Act, among others.

“He first started a verbal spat with our employees accompanied by a group who repeatedly pleaded with them to leave the hospital premises. Dey then suddenly whipped out a revolver and threatened our staff,” JP Khaitan, MD , Hospital said while lodging a complaint against Dey.

Shockingly, after Police came on call, there had no strict action against TMC leader till the CCTV footage became public. However, source said appropriate action would be taken against Dey if he is found guilty.

Ashish Dey who was the TMC’s district secretary, is now out of the party. He was suspended a couple of years ago,  Trinamool MP Shatabdi Roy told reporters while asking about Dey’s misact.
