“After completing the audit of ministry of telecom, which was under my direct charge, I prepared a draft audit report covering each and every aspect … My report did not contain any loss figure,” former director general of Comptroller and Auditor General, RP Singh said.

He also claimed that there were Rs. 37,000 crore recovering from those holding excess spectrum which he had mentioned in his report. Read more

Cabinet begins 2G telecom spectrum auction today

Today will be the starting of bidding auction of 2G spectrum as the Cabinet is going to gain Rs.40,000 crore from auction for telecom spectrum get relief from cancellation of 122 telecom licences by the Supreme Court in February.

The bidding process belongs to major 8 companies-Uninor, Loop Telecom, Sistema Shyam, Idea Cellular including Spice Communications, Videocon, Etisalat DB formerly Swan Telecom , S-Tel and Tata Teleservices,  is reported to be started today. Read more
