2G Spectrum Case: Verdict on plea against P Chidambaram today
According to latest news, the Supreme Court will today deliver the verdict on the plea made by the Janta Party president Subramanian Swamy for CBI probe against the involvement of Union Finance minister P Chidambaram in the 2G Spectrum case.
Further, bench of Justices G.S. Singhvi and K.S. Radhakrishnan reserved orders after hearing counsel for various parties. Read more
Sharad Pawar quits as Telecom EGoM head
Just within three days after appointed as head of Empower Group of Ministers on telecom, the agriculture minister Sharad Pawar on Monday decided to quit from the post.
Major reason is that Pawar feared attempts to drag him into the 2G scam controversies,. Therefore while chairing the first meeting of the reconstituted EGoM that tabled on Monday, Pawar postponed it and send a letter to PM Manmohan Singh, according to report. Read more
Loop Telecom demands 4,700cr in 2G Licence fee refund
Taking a step to bearing its all losses due to cancellation of 2G licences, Loop Telecom on Tuesday approached the telecom sector’s tribunal TDSAT, seeking refund of total 4,700 crore from the government and TRAI regulator.
The refunded amount includes Rs. 1,454 crore as entry fee paid while in 2008 obtaining 21 telecom licence issued by former telecoms minister A Raja. Read more
