Ponty Chadha Murder case: Search for Sukhdev Singh Namdhari and his associates in Uttarakhand

The investigating team of Police is now searching for Sukhdev Singh Namdhari, the key witness and complainant in the case of killing of liquor baron Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep.

The police are hunting for Sukhdev Singh Namdhari and his associates.

In addition, the police team has also conducted raids on Thursday night at number of locations of Sukhdev Singh Namdhari’s hide-outs in Uttarakhand.

Earlier on November 17, the Delhi Police allowed Namdhari to leave Delhi after recording his statement at the Chattarpur farmhouse in south Delhi. Read more

Cloudbursts Uttarakhand 150x150 Cloudbursts in Uttarakhand: 33 dead, 35 missingAccording to latest reports, series of cloudbursts were reported in Uttarakhand since last night resulting landslides and flash flood in the region. Reports have said that around 33 people were killed, 35 went missing and several were injured in many parts of the state.

The highly hit area with the flash flood was Ukhimath are in Rudraprayag district as the cloudburst flattened dozens of homes in as many as eight villages and 29 people were killed. Around 35 people went missing and 15 were injured and admitted to the nearby hospitals. Read more

Madhumita Shukla murder case: HC upholds life term for Amarmani Tripathi

Pronouncing its final decision in the high profile death case of poetess Madhumita Shukla today, the Uttarakhand High Court upheld the life term punishment awarded to former Samajwadi Party MP Amarmani Tripathi.

As per reports, all other accused in the case, including Amarmani’s wife, Madhumani has also awarded punishment by court. Read more

Union minister Harish Rawat quits after denied CM’s post

Union minister Harish Rawat, minister of State for Agriculture and Parliamentary Affairs is said to have resign from his post and he had also send resign letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to act upon it.

Vijay Bahuguna who gave the nod to the next Chief Minister said, “This is a pressure tactic. We will handle it.”

Mr.Rawat was representing Hardwar constituency and was a strong contender for the post of Uttarakhand Chief Ministership and his move to split from the Union government came after he lost the race and the 10 Janpath overlooked his claims for the Chief Minister’s post. Read more
