Theatre owners against Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam on DTH

As per latest news, the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association gathered for a meeting in Madurai.

It is said that the meeting was called after it has been confirmed beyond doubt that Kamal Haasan’s Tamil Vishwaroopam will be first shown on DTH.

An association of DTH circulars headed by Airtel and Dish TV has announced that they will telecast the film few hours before its theatrical release on January 11.

On the other hand, the Producer’s Council has came to a conclusion with an agreement to consider the idea, but the theater owners has finally decided to go against the release of the film on DTH.

Meanwhile, the super star of Tamil films, Kamal Haasan himself is promoting the DTH concept.

Though, the Theatre Owners Association have requested the actor to re-consider his decision to show the film of DTH just few hours of its release on January 11.

The actor has announced on a social networking site about a contest of short film. People are asked to make a short film of 60-seconds about the benefits of DTH.

Kamal Haasanasks the contestants – “Let’s tell the world how it can open new windows for the future of cinema” with his contest.
