Army Chief V K Singh loses age battle in Supreme Court

Chief General V K Singh who has given his 38 years of service to the nation has lost his battle for age row when Supreme Court told Chief that they could understand his fact of pain but he should accept order of Government who would take the final decision over age battle.

General had filled petition in the SC against the govt. to recognize May 10, 1951 as his date of birth in official service records and not May 10, 1950.

But as per past record of General’s promotion in 2006 when he promoted to Lt. Gen rank, this post had been accepted by General on basis of May 10, 1950 as his DOB. And later on 2008, he had once again promoted as Army Commander.

Defining his act of accepting status position in Army in 2006, SC asked, “We can understand if a person who has been harassed and not achieved anything is before us. You have achieved the highest position you aspire for. Why should a person of your stature come to court?” Read more

army chief vk singh 300x258 Army Chief Age Issue: SC to hear today on VK Singh’s DOBThe Army chief general V K Singh who has brought the government in Supreme Court by filling a plea against it for claiming his DOB 1950 instead of 1951 is able to set down the UPA govt. under his strong defensive content as the proof of Legal document of Matriculation certificate.

As per source report, defence secretary Sashikant Sharma advised General to closed the case and offered him acceptance of his date of birth as 10 May,1951 by the govt. if he ready to quit on 31 May,2012 .

Such strange condition has brought because if he does not quit from the post then instead of posting of Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen Bikram Singh as the next army chief, General will be stay in his position as per this his retirement period will be bring forward from 2012. Read more

General VK Singh 300x231 Army Chief Age Issue: VK Singh sues Govt.Taking a straight forward step by the Army Chief General VK Singh, now today govt. has come up in the Supreme Court to clarifying its attempt on VK Singh’s false Date of Birth.

As per govt. the DOB of general is 10 May, 1950 and on basis of this he should retire on 31st of May.

But General claimed that his DOB is 10 May, 1951 as per his legal documents.

Now claim put on the branches of Army that maintained the whole record, interestingly there is much confusion between two branches because one show General’s DOB as 1950 and other as 1951.

All such has put unconstitutional tag on Army and for removing this with taking a clear stand, all related candidates are legally addressed in the Court today on basis of petition filled by Chief VK Singh. Read more
