Rats bits patient in Govt. Hospital at Jodhpur

In a government hospital while hospital staff slept, rats have injured a 70-year-old paralyzed man who was on ventilator in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital being allegedly nibbled on his ears, nose, lips and cheeks.

The hospital sources revealed a report; the paralyzed man was found seriously injured yesterday morning by his family members at the Mathura Das Mathur hospital with his ears, lips, nose bitten allegedly by rats. The man was unable to move due to paralysis when the incident took place early.

However the order of investigation has been issued to the authorities at the government hospital. The staff confirmed that the incident was brought to their notice by a patient’s attendant.

Ghulam Nabi Azad 300x229 Change in policy for Healthcare and Medical Institutions: AzadAs per statement revealed by Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Centre is now considering to facilitate overseas citizens of India with foreign medical qualifications to both practice and teach in the country due to shortage of skilled manpower in the Indian healthcare system.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas has been organized at the Birla Auditorium, Jaipur where all the overseas Indians and people of Indian origin are addressing and Azad announced that the government has undertaken policy reforms to encourage capacity building in medical institutions.

These policy reforms include rationalization of land use for setting up medical institutions, placing FDI in healthcare under automatic approval route, and increasing the faculty student ratio in PG Medical Colleges from 1:2 to 1:1.

India reports first death from TB

TB India reports first death from TBNow the rate of affected people from total drug resistant (TDR) tuberculosis (TB) is going to 12. In November last year the PD Hinduja hospital detected four people with TDR tuberculosis (TB), the first such cases in the country.

From the last two months, eight others have been detected with same.

Amongst them, one was from Dharavi, a 31-year-old woman who died in November 2011. After passing a surgery to remove one of her infected lungs, she passed away.

Doctors declare it a result of inappropriate treatment of TB patients in private clinics.

Doctors on Strike at CMCH

Six prisoners escape from Institute of Mental Health in Erragadda

Six life convicts who were shifted recently for treatment for mental sickness in the Institute of Mental Health in Erragadda, has been escaped from the prisoners’ ward.

These six prisoners were serving in Cherlapally Central Prison, five were in murder cases while the sixth in rape case.

The name of these are Afroz, 32, Giridhar Singh, 33, Ramulu, 32, Yadagiri, 35, Laxmaiah, 30, all held guilty in murder case and Narsimha, 32, rape case convict, they all were shifted to the Institute on different dates.

However the information regarding prisoners escaping had been given to the institute authorities at around 5.30 a.m.

The estimation are made that they managed to break the small iron bars of the ward’s ventilator and to land safely on a side.

Although State health minister Jaynarayan Vyas informed that the Gujarat govt. has been working for put control over Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) that in 2009 fell from 48 per 1,000 live births to 44 per 1,000 live births in 2010.

This record had been taken from Registrar General of India’s Sample Registration Survey Report 2010.

Resident Doctors end strike in Rajasthan

Having a big issue on strike of Rajasthan doctor, the state govt. has a big partially success due to end of strike by resident doctors on Tuesday night.

India will not allow biding emissions pact: Government

At the time when the country face a economic crisis , the India govt. will not ready to make sign on any legally binding global agreement for emissions reduction , Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan clearly stated in Rajya sabha today.

While, the decision to set-up $100 billion corpus on the Green Climate Fund has taken in the Conference, which would start operations soon with an interim secretariat and a Board.

Defining the economic condition, Jayanthi Natarajan said, “India will not sign any legally binding global agreement for emissions reduction, as the country needs to eradicate poverty through economic growth.”

“There is no question of signing a legally binding agreement at this point of our development. We need to make sure that our development does not suffer,” she added.
