Maruti Suzuki sales drop 5 per cent in May 2012

Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer of the country has recently announced in its reports that the company’s May month sale has recorded a drop of 4.99 percent in total sales at 98,884 units.

It is said in reports that Maruti Suzuki had sold 1,04,073 units in the month of May in 2011.

However, in May 2012, the company recorded domestic sales at 89,478 units as against 93,519 units in the last year, experiencing a fall of 4.32 percent.

Suzuki recalls over one lakh Swifts worldwide, Indian market unaffected

Maruti Suzuki India [MSI], the biggest car manufacturer of India, has recently announced that its working is not affected by the so-called global recall of over one lakh Swift compact cars by its Japanese parent Suzuki.

While talking to media in national capital, an official from MSI said, “The Swift cars made and sold in India by Maruti Suzuki are not impacted by this recall.”

Hyundai appoints Maruti Suzuki’s Rakesh Srivastava as VP

Maruti Suzuki won’t completely stop manufacturing vehicles out of Gurgaon plant

India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti announced that without having goal to cut completely car making at its Gurgaon factory, it plans to cease one part out of three in the immediate future

Dismissing its previous earlier statement of ending car making plants at Gurgaon, Maruti Chairman RC Bhargava said, “What we did say was that out of the three assembly lines at Gurgaon, we would shut down one line by 2015, reducing the installed capacity to 5 lakh cars, as against 7.2 lakh at present. In the space which would become available we would install our new diesel engine plant with a capacity of 3 lakh engines and also make components.”

Maruti Suzuki hikes car prices up to Rs 17,000

Fresh Auto sector news reveals that Maruti Suziki India [MSI], the country’s largest car manufacturer, has today announced to increase the car prices by up to Rs 17,000 after the recent hike in the excise duty in the Budget.

It is said in reports that the hike in car prices will affect Maruti’s models ranging from small car segment M800 to mid-sized cars like Sedan SX4.

While talking to media, MSI Managing Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Mr. Mayank Pareek said, “There has been an average increase in prices of our vehicles by 1.75 per cent after the Budget.”

Maruti Suzuki to invest Rs2600 crore on new diesel plant in India

As per the latest Auto news, Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest car manufacturer has recently announced that it’s India branch will invest Rs 2,600 crore to establish a new diesel plant at its Gurgaon facility and to boost R&D activities at Rohtak by 2014.

Maruti Suzuki India’s Board of Directors, in a meeting took place on Friday, sanctioned the deal to establish a diesel plant in Gurgaon at an investment of Rs 1,700 crore. The company further announced to ramp up investment by Rs 900 crore at its upcoming R&D centre in Rohtak.
