According to fresh news, some terrorists had opened fire at an army convoy near a well-known hotel on outskirts of Srinagar killing a civilian and injuring two others.

This is a first such incident since May this year.

As per reports by police, few terrorists had opened fire on army convoy near the Silver Star hotel near Lasjan on Parimpora- Panthachowk bypass road at around 4.20pm.

Police added that a bell boy, identified as Farooq Ahmad, and 2 other civilians were injured in the firing by terrorists.

Further, the army vehicle was damaged in the incident but no security personnel were injured.

This is the 1st firing incident since the firing on CRPF at Khanyar in May 2012.

Meanwhile, army had cordoned off the area and started the search operation to track down the terrorists.
