Three days, Mahi Manesar still in borewell, rescue operations on

As per the latest news, it is almost three days now and the four-year-old Mahi Manesar is still struck in the borewell. However, rescue operations are going on full swing by the India Army’s engineering wing, and had achieved some success Friday night by removing the rock that was making problems for them.

Meanwhile, the four year old Mahi was trapped int eh 70-feet borewell at a village near Manesar on Wednesday. It was her birthday and she was playing with her friends in an auto rishkaw.

The army’s rescue team is using hi-tech equipments to reach the girl and drill a hole parallel to the borewell.

However, operation was hit yesterday night when rock a part was held in the hole and team used machines to break it out. Though, Mahi is being supplied oxygen with the help of a pipe but her condition is not well.

Talking to media, Deputy Commissioner, Gurgaon, PC Meena said, “The work to rescue the child was hampered by the presence of hard rocks which have come in the way of the link to be established between the borewell and a parallel pit dug up in order to reach her.”

He said, “The rocks are creating problems and it is going to take time.”

Reports have said that more than 100 officials reached the spot so far including Army, fire, police, health and revenue departments.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said efforts were on to get the girl out in fine condition and instructions have been given for that. He said “whosoever is responsible for the carelessness (for not covering the borewell), a case is being made against him”.
