Actor-director Dinesh Thakur passed away

Once again sad news for the Hindi film industry. Veteran actor-director Dinesh Thakur passed away today after long illness.

He will be remembered in Bollywood for his character roles in late 70s.

The actor was suffering from kidney ailments and took his last breath at a suburban Andheri hospital.

The actor was 65-years-old and was survived by actor-wife Prita Mathur.

Dinesh Thakur had worked in films like Mere Apne, Rajanigandha and Ghar. He own a ANK Productions for the past 30-years.

Meanwhile, the actor Dinesh Thakur had showcased his play Rang Bajrang at the Prithvi and Tata theatres in April 2011.

The actor appeared in noted leads in Rajnigandha (1974) directed by Basu Chatterjee, he won both Filmfare Best Movie Award and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Movie.

Family sources told media that his last rites will be conducted today at the Oshiwara crematorium around 4.30 pm.
