Gambhir flies back to Delhi after grandmother dies

According to latest news, the opener from the Indian cricket team Gautam Gambhir flew back to Delhi before the start of the fourth day`s play in the first Test against England following the death of his grandmother on Sunday.

Talking to media, the media manager Vinod Deshpande has confirmed the news and said that Gautam Gambhir took a flight to Delhi this morning after hearing the news of his grandmother`s death.

Vinod Deshpande said, “I don`t know when he will be back. It probably will depend on what happens today in the match.”

In the meantime, reserve Ajinkya Rahane came as a substitute for opener Gautam Gambhir when play started at the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera on Sunday.

The latest cricket scores state that the England cricket team is batting at 182/3. Cook has completed his hundred and is batting at 109* with Bell batting at 11*.

Ojha took two wickets and pacer Zaheer Khan took one wicket.

The England cricket team still trail by 148 runs with 7 wickets remaining.
