Samsung launches Window 8- based ATIV Smart Tablet PCs

South Korea Electronics giant Samsung has launched its Windows 8 touch Ultrabook , tablet cum PC, called ATIV Smart PC in Indian market .

“Our smart devices like the ATIV Smart PC and the other Windows 8-powered notebooks are designed to deliver seamless user experience… We have 10 per cent share of the notebook market in India and by next year, we are targeting 12 per cent,” Samsung Vice-President, IT , Jin Park told reporters.

High share market positioning target in India notebook segment, Samsung claimed to hold 12% share by the end of 2013 with upcoming new Windows 8 product launches.

Samsung ATIV Smart PC has come with two variants- one is with Widnow Phone 8 OS and another with Window Pro at price of Rs. 53,990 and Rs 75,490, both featuring a 11.6” touch screen display with 1366×768 pixels, a detachable keyboard and also S-Pen Stylus with lots of connectivity options such as Samsung’s proprietary dock port.

In additional features, the device is powered by a dual-core Intel Atom processor of 1.8GHz,
2GB RAM, 64GB of eMMC memory, also dual speakers, and for image capturing, there is a 8MP rear camera with 2 MP front facing shooter for video calling.
