The skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautam Gambhir has recently said in an interview that he is ready to take the responsibility of captaincy of the Indian test side.
When asked by media, if he is ready for the job, the cricketer said, “Absolutely, it is the biggest honour. I am ready for it. Ready for the responsibility of the challenge because you want to take different challenges as well. That’s where your mental toughness and character will be tested.”
The former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly believes Gautam Gambhir is now ready to lead the Indian Cricket team in the test matches.
Sourav Ganguly said during an interview that Gambhir is ready to take over from MS Dhoni as captain of the Test team after he led Kolkata Knight Riders to their first-ever IPL title in IPL 2012 finals against MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings.
The IPL 2012 had ended with a smile on Kolkata Knight Riders, the winners of DLF IPL 2012 was welcomed in Kolkata for their IPL triumph.

The Kolkata Knight Riders [KKR] has managed to be at the 2nd position in the points table with a 34 runs win over Pune Warriors India [PWI] in the Indian Premier League match played at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune 19 May 2012 – day/night (20-over match).
Earlier, KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir won the toss and elected to bat first. KKR started well and scored 136 runs in the 20 overs. This is not a very good total in the Twenty20 cricket, and once it looked that PWI can win the match.
