Under the YouTube Space Lab Contest there are 9 Indian students who come in the final race amongst 60 others and if their designed experiments appreciated and win by beating the other then such designs will be used by NASA, ESA and JAXA in space.

You Tube Space Lab Contest are a global science competition in which the participants are of 14-18 year-old targeted to design a science experiment that can be performed in space.

The list of finalists announced yesterday by YouTube Space Lab with cooperation of three most Space agencies, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

The YouTube community will be invited to judge the entries, alongside judges including scientist Stephen Hawking and former astronaut Leland Melvin.

However the competition is on basis of two age groups – 14-16 years and 17-18 years and the condition to submit their experiments in form of YouTube video either alone or in groups.

As per report, 40% participation made from India and 15 %by US. UK, Russia, Israel, Canada, Spain, Italy, Poland and Japan are also included.

There will be two finalists from m each age group whose name will announce in March. In form of prize they will have right to choose space experience whether to go on a trip to Japan to watch their experiment conducted in the ISS or getting an astronaut training in Star City, Russia when they are 18.

The other Six regional winners will together go a ZERO-G (zero gravity) flight in March along with a Lenovo IdeaPad laptop, their names will be announced in February.
