BSNL unveils 3 tablets, Lowest model worth Rs 3,250

BSNL put its hands as an entrant into the increasingly competitive market for the tablets by launching three tablets in New Delhi.

Three Penta TPAD IS7O1R, WS704C and WS802C, made by Noida-based Pantel are now available in market for usage and ready to beat the Aakash tablet that made by Datawind, promoted by a Canadian India.

Recently govt. has ordered more than thousands “Aakash” improved version to provide high networking services at price of Rs 2,250 for students.

As targeting the entry-level segment, BSNL fix the price range of three tablets at Rs 3,250, Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,500, high in comparison of Aakash, the reason may be of technical specifications.

Featuring with a 7″ resistive touchscreen, the Penta TPAD IS7O1R also sports 1 GHz processor, 256 MB RAM, WiFi, 3G dongle supports & a front camera. This tablet seems to be a strong competitor of the Aakash tablet.

Powerful earthquake jolts Taiwan once again

A powerful quake of only 7 seconds in Taiwan’s second-largest city Kaohsiung made a great destructions and fleeing people onto the streets on Sunday.

Kaohsiung is a greatest metropolitan area of nearly three million populations. Seemed that a short but strong, quake brought around 57 kilometres (35 miles) east of the southern city at 10:34 am (0234 GMT) at a depth of just four kilometers.

However there were no living causalities over this but transport rail services temporarily delayed.

“While the quake was strong, it didn’t last long. Even in some towns near the epicentre, buildings swayed for no more than seven seconds. That explained why it did not inflict damages,” Chen Jung-yu, a spokesman for the Seismology Centre said.

Tendulkar gets honorary life membership of SCG

The master blaster from Indian cricket team, Sachin Tendulkar is now the only overseas player to be presented with the honorary life membership of the Sydney Cricket Ground.

On Sunday, the award was handed over to Indian cricketer by New South Wales premier Barry O’Farrell. While presenting the award, he said, “Sachin is one of the greatest cricketers ever and it’s only appropriate we honour him with life membership of one of the world’s greatest cricket grounds.”

During the occasion, he praised the cricketer for Sachin’s sportsmanship and deference for the history of the game, O’Farrell said, “The batting legend has said the SCG is his favourite ground outside of India and it’s no wonder when you look at his record at this ground.”

Violence on high in Syria as voting begins

Amid continuing protest and a boycott by the opposition human right group and other activist organizations, the Syrian government held a referendum on a new constitution today.

This new text calls for a multi-party parliamentary election within three months, leaves huge powers in the hands of President Bashar al-Assad.

Polling of Syrians came in the face of deadly violence that Washington said made the exercise “laughable.”

But the question is that how the ballot can prove to be convincing under a campaign to crush the protests. And it is expected that new text framed by 29 officials’ committee would drop the highly controversial Article 8 in the existing charter, which makes Mr Assad’s Baath party “the head of state and society” since they seized power in a 1963 coup.

Eight arrested in Delhi’s five-star hotel case

Delhi police has arrested all the eight assaulters who made violent attacks on the chief security officer of a Delhi’s five-star hotel.

The attackers identified as name of Rocky, Anuj, Sandeep, Bobby, Manander, Sunder Pal, Devender and Satyawan Awana. And a complaint had already filed by Rohit Tomar, manager of Jynxxx against them to visited the club and created a ruckus as misbehaving with some guests.

Although all of them were known to victim who worked as the chief security officer of the Hilton-run Eros Hotel, but an outcome of this clash was over a girl.

Woman alleges raped during train loot

In yet another gangrape case, a woman was raped by a gang armed with guns and choppers looted a passenger train in the Ahmedpur-Katwa narrow gauge section of Eastern Railway on Saturday evening and raped a woman who tried to put up a resistance.

It was said in reports that the woman, a widow, told the police officials that she was dragged out of his compartment and was raped by 5 men by the railway tracks.

In the meantime, the Katwa SDPO and inspector-incharge of Ketugram has taken the woman for further investigation as well as medical tests when last told to media by the police department. However, no FIR has been registered yet by the police.
