Ganpati visarjan today; high Security in Mumbai
Among the high notes of Ganpati Bappa Morya, people of India will on Saturday bid adieu to Lord Ganesh idols. The great festival mostly celebrated in Mumbai, Ganesh Chaturthi, with grand fanfare in Mumbai, and the city has security tighten-up for immersion of more than 90,000 idols at 84 different areas.
The 10-days long festival will end today as the high number devotees will gather in Ganesh temples today.
Reports have said that around 25,000 policemen have been deployed in the sity today to handle with any unexpected situations.
Further, 2 companies of Rapid Action Force, one company of the Border Security Force and four companies of the State Reserve Police Force are being deployed in the Mumbai city today.
In addition, around 350 lifeguards have been deployed regions of the city. Mumbai police has also deployed 37 watch towers at important parts with main control room at Girgaum Chowpatty in south Mumbai.
In the meantime, Lord Ganesh, the elephant-headed god of wisdom and prosperity, arrived in homes on September 19 and today is Ganpati visarjan.
