This is a do or die match for India as they have to chase the total batting second before 40 overs to gain the bonus point to keep their wishes alive in the tri-series.

The breaking is that Sri Lanka has lost their first wicket in the form of their captain, R Jadeja has struck in his very first over of the match, Mahela Jayawardene was caught by Virender Sehwag. He made 22 runs from 33 balls with one four and one six.

Meanwhile, Indian captain MS Dhoni has won the toss for the first time in tri-series, but he decided to bowl first. India has recalled their front line bowler Zaheer Khan in the team, however, Irfan Pathan is not playing today.

After winning the toss, MSD said, “The circumstances demand that we chase.”

He said, “Irfan’s injury affects his bowling more than his batting, and we need the extra seamer, so Zaheer is back.”

To keep their going to the finals of the Commonwealth Bank Series, India have to win today’s match with a bonus point and then hope Australia beat Sri Lanka in the last league game of the tournament on March 2.
