Train derails in Assam, 50 passengers injured

The breaking news of the day stats that around 50 passengers were injured when the engine and 5 compartments of a train derailed after it collided with an earth-cutting vehicle on its Kamrup (Rural) district of Assam today morning.

As per the latest information released by the Indian Railways officials, The Bongaigaon-Guwahati Chilarai Passenger train crashed into the earth-cutting vehicle and jammed on the track at Gossainghati between Azara and Mirza railway stations, which thereafter left around 50 passengers injured.

It is further reported that the incident took place at around 9.30 a.m. today morning.

While talking to media, an official from the railways said, “The injured passengers were rushed by the local people to the Mirza Public Health Centre from where the critically injured were referred to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital.”

On the other hand, the rescue team along with senior officials from the railways has rushed to the spot.
