China aims to launch Long March-5 into Space

Being a massive explosive, China is ready to launch its next generation rockets of a heavy-thrust carrier that could help China send men to the moon and fly to deep space in the future.

Announcing the preliminary completion of all project, Liang Xiaohong, a member of the National Committee of the 11th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, said, “If approved (by the government), the heavy-thrust carrier rocket will be able to meet the demands of any proposed Chinese mission in space.”

Earthquake in north India today, 19th so far in 2012

In north India, national capital, a mild tremors, measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale with Haryana’s Bahadurgarh as epicentre, felt a little after 1 pm on Monday.

As per report, a mild earthquake hit at a depth of nine kilometres below the earth’s surface for less than ten seconds.

The effect of tremors were also felt in parts of Haryana and also in region close to Bahadurgarh – including Gurgaon, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Hisar, Bhiwani and other places. But no casualty or loss to property was reported to Police.

Al-Qaida fighters kill 26 policemen in west Iraq

In early morning, more than dozens of Al-Qaida fighters has launched an assault on checkpoints and officers’ homes across Haditha in west Iraq on Monday, killing 26 policemen, as per official report.

The fighters who were wearing military uniforms along with deploying in stolen army vehicles, being attacked two checkpoints of Haditha at one time before storming other security posts and raiding the homes of two officers.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Owaid Khalaf, who was involved in some of Monday’s firefights, said, “More than 50 gunmen altogether started attacking checkpoints all over the town.”

CWG graft: Delhi Court dismisses Swiss Company’s plea

Further preceding a corruption case linked to the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the Delhi high court dismissed the plea of Swiss Timing of putting restrictive possible coercive action against it.

However Swiss Timing firm had been charged in a connection with corruption allegation, allegedly getting a contract in Commonwealth Games illegally and causing a loss of over Rs 90 crore to the exchequer.

And while approaching Delhi high court in against directed order of lower court seeking a stay on possible coercive measures against firm, Swiss did not appear in a trial court.

“The petition is dismissed,” quotes by saying the apex court after Swiss not appearing for trial.

Two Indian dead and 22 injured in Malaysia accident

An Indian tourist’s bus hit the road divider and flipped into the opposite lane while returning from a popular tourist destination, Genting Highlands in Malaysia’s Pahang state on Monday.

A total of 24 Indian tourists, 2 were killed and 22 wounded with several injuries. Two drivers of the bus were also injured.

As per a source report, all victims were from Punjab state and amongst them 4 were in critical condition, being doubted survival of their life.
