Food Inflation still in negative zone

As per the fresh business sector news, food inflation is still in the negative zone for the 3rd successive week, at (-)0.42% for the week ended January 7, largely due to the decline in the costs of onion and vegetables.

As per the statement issued by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), the food inflation was at (-) 2.90% in the last week. Though, it was above 16 percent in the same week of the last year.

The official note released yesterday states that cost prices of onion were dropped by 75.42 percent year on year during the week under review, and costs of potato slips 23.84 percent in the same period. However, prices of wheat fell by 3.57 percent.

Bajaj Auto third quarter net up 19% yoy

Bajaj Auto 300x199 Bajaj Auto third quarter net up 19% yoyAs per the latest reports, the giant auto sector company, Bajaj Auto has recently announced its third quarter earning reports, showing a growth of 19.19 percent in net profit at Rs 795 crore in the quarter ended December last year.

In the same period of 2011, the company reports a growth of Rs 667 crore.

Bajaj Auto reports a growth of Rs 4840 crore for the quarter under review. However, a loss on derived hedging is announced as Rs 59 crore.

The major automobile company announced high sales of over 1 million units for the third successive time in a row, and reported a revenue of around Rs 5154 crore and export revenue of Rs1710 crore.

Fiat inks deal to supply diesel engines to Maruti Suzuki

Italian car-manufacturer Fiat and Japanese car-developer Suzuki Motor Corporation has recently announced that the two companies have inked an agreement to supply Fiat diesel engines to India’s largest car company Maruti Suzuki.

In a joint statement released by the two companies, “Fiat India Automobiles Ltd (FIAL) will supply up to one lakh 1.3 litre MultiJet 75hp SDE engines per year to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) starting from January 2012 for a period of three years.”

The joint note issued saying that the engine will be installed on Suzuki labeled cars manufactured in India by MSIL for the local market.

The well-known Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has recently confirmed that Pooja Bhatt has decided to cast Sunny Leone in Jism 2.

The filmmaker poster on his social networking site, Twitter, “Sunny Leone is the heroine of Pooja Bhatt’s JISM 2. Now watch this brave girl unfold her soul & rise higher and higher!,”

Meanwhile, Jism 2 is a sequel of 2003 released film, which had Bipasha Basu and John Abraham in the lead role.

Earlier, the Bollywood filmmaker had entered the Bigg Boss 5 house to officially offer the role to Canadian-born Sunny Leone who was then entered in the Bigg Boss 5 house as a competitor, it was a reality show featured on Colors TV.
