The allegation of G Madhavan Nair, the former chief of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) against Pratyush Sinha-led committee’s report, has been called wrong by ISRO present chief K Radhakrishnan today.

Having no prolonged feud behind blacklisting Mr. Nair and three other scientists in connection with the controversial Antrix-Devas deal, Radhakrishan said, “Whatever we wanted to say on the subject, we have put on the website. There is a full report and recommendations of the second report, and there is a four-page statement. I don’t want to add anything more. There is nothing personal in it.”

Mr. Nair had alleged that Pratyush Sinha committee report had only defined selective facts and the committee had not given him any opportunity to explain. Nair also claimed that Radhakrishnan is behind all this matter.

Uninor announces to bid for 2G Spectrum auction

uninor 287x300 Uninor announces to bid for 2G Spectrum auctionAs per the latest technology sector reports, the new telecom operator Uninor, a JV between Telenor of Norway and Unitech, today announced that the company will take part in 2G spectrum auction though the company did not rule out exit option from the Indian market.

The announced was made when Uninor managing director and Telenor’s Asia head Sigve Brekke talking got media, he said, “In principle we will go for auction but I am not saying that whether we will win everything … So, the option of exit cannot be ruled out.”

He added that the company will soon finalize its policies after going through the base price and the reserve price for the spectrum.

Earlier, the licence of Uninor has been cancelled by the Supreme Court along with other new operators. Supreme Court’s judgment last week orders to cancel the licences of 122 2G licences in connection of illegally in January 2008 by ex-telecom minister A Raja.

Service tax net may broaden further

As per 2012 budgetary report, it is seeking that the government keep 22 services in the negative list as all kinds of economic activities, barring goods, money and immovable property as like construction, health, entertainment, restaurants, non-AC rail fares,transport, toll, betting and gambling.

All who are excepting to pay tax, now being charged on all 22 categories of services and impose 10 % on the rest. Govt. has clear stand on this step to add more services in the negative list of tax that is practiced globally and now introducing in India as part of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). It is expected that the negative list may introduce from the next fiscal (2012-13).

Adding more services in the negative list on which tax is charged, will hope to Centre to mop up Rs 82,000 crore for the current fiscal.

Police tracks baby Falak’s biological mother

As per latest news, the Delhi Police has traced Baby Falak’s biological mother. Falak is a two years old baby girl who was brought to AIIMS on January 18 by a 14-year-old girl in a battered condition.

As per Police saying, a 22-year-old woman called Munni who had brought Falak to the home of a woman called Lakshmi about six months ago is the biological mother of Baby Falak.

She had been traced in Rajasthan and has been brought today to Delhi for questioning her about the brutality case.

While questioning to Munni as investigation, she claims to be the baby’s mother. Munni had abandoned from her husband and being frustrated from him, she ran away last year and lived in Lakshmi’s house as her maid servant.

Tamil actress in connections with prostitution

The latest Bollywood news states that a Tamil film actress was arrested yesterday from a five-star hotel in Pune in connections with some involvements in prostitution by the Crime Branch of the city police.

It is said that the 22-year-old Caroline Mariyath, who also in some big Tamil films as a lead actress, is also a model for several diamond and textile firms running in Chennai as well as Bangalore. The city police further reveal that her clients used to pay three lakhs each.

While talking to media, Senior Inspector (Crime Branch) Bhanupratap Barge said, “We laid a trap and sent a decoy customer. Caroline is quite popular in Chennai. She has played heroine in movies – ‘Rain’, ‘Wadachalam’ and others.”

In addition to this, the Tamil actress Mariyath’s manager and film studio owner M Rajkumar has also been arrested by the city police.

Heavy snowfall in UK, affects flights from India

From last two days, the weather atmosphere of Britain has gone to adverse. Heavy snowfall and extreme cold blocked the transportation in Britain and people of the cities in their homes.
