Government is the best instance to reveal the power of website hackers as only from side of government more than 112 websites has been hacked and spoiled the appearance of it from the last three months.

Seeking an effective target for web hackers, around 14,000 government and corporate websites were hacked in 2011 including the Finance Ministry, Health, Human Resource Development ministries and Planning Commission and various State government agencies.

Last year, “Pakistani Cyber Army” programmers had spoiled the appearance of the government’s so much secured Central Bureau of Investigation website that affected the whole department functioning and once again put the tag of ignorance.

The threat was so much progressive that took weeks to tackle it, but the over all incident had ground the govt position with being embarrassed over it.

On December 4, 2011 Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd website was hacked by the ‘H4tr!ck’ hacker group, and being lessoned from theses all harassment happenings , the NIC has now taken regular various measures to prevent government websites from getting hacked.

Such hacking report retained on Wednesday while Minister of State for Communications and IT Sachin Pilot informed the Lok Sabha, “During the period December 2011 to February 2012, a total number of 112 government websites were hacked.”

To handle this hacking threat, I-T Department and the National Informatics Centre (NIC) are trying to upgrade their functioning skills by further upgrading Firewalls and installing other threat removal software. However to ensure that hackers could not target government, the new filters has to be added in websites.
