On Thursday, India recorded a successful launching of Agni-5, Indian homemade nuclear-capable missile that has a strike range of over 5,000 kilometers.

This test is appreciated by all developing countries of world and China also reacted cautiously and ensured to have deep relations with India, not a rival.

Embarrassing controversial row over the leakage of Army Chief General VK Singh’s confidential letter to the Prime Minister, is said to hand over CBI for further investigation, demanded by govt.

After the matter of offering a bribe of 14 crores to General VK Singh to sanction the purchase of “sub-standard” trucks, this leakage of official communication is the second major issue. That treated as a biggest breach of national security, damaging the reputation of a 1.3 million strong Indian Army.

Under the huge pressure from opposition members and former Army chiefs over embarrassment issues, the UPA government asked Defence Ministry to set IB for probe the matter, inquire into leakage of the Army Chief’s letter to the media along with the bribery allegations made by him. The army chief General VK Singh’s age row petition will hear by the Supreme Court today and the court will hear the over all matter from both sides.

The major steps has been taken to solve the age row issue and the finance minister Pranab Mukherjee also met with General in a day before hearing for reaching on any stage of ending the issue, but in his half an hour meeting at Mukherjee’s South Block office late in the evening, Pranab was not asked for compromising, only asked for updates of issue and know the date of hearing on apex’s court.

On 3 Feb, the Supreme Court will hear the petition that was filed by General VK Singh as issue of his age that created by govt. to treat his date of birth as May 10,1950 instead of May 10, 1951.

But today, 5 days before the hearing , the ministry of Defence has written a letter to Adjutant’s General’s branch of Army asking for make a change in the Army Chief’s date of birth as 1950.
