Taliban gunmen attack hotel in Kabul

Today early morning, the Afghan Capital, Kabul bordered with arms force in wake of another insurgency while Taliban militants attacked on the exclusive Spozhmai hotel situated at a popular Qargha Lake of Kabul on Thursday night.

Reports suggested that, three militants lodged with explosive materials including rocket and automatic weapons, grenades , machine guns, attacked on hotel, making hostages of several peoples including women and children and killed at least four.

The assaulted hotel is one of the Kabul’s popular hotels where high-profile people from embassies, ISAF and the Kabul administration gather every Thursday for wild parties.

During a continuous six-hour fighting, Afghan forces were active giving response to the insurgents, covering the hotel outside and taking position behind the cars and trees flanking the lake, source of NATO‘s International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) told reporters.

Still gun fight is carry on, while two NATO helicopters were over heading the hotel in wake of security force operation.

Taking to media persons, Afghan source said, “Four or five suicide attackers were involved in the attack. Two of them have been killed”. During assault, three hotel guards and at least one police officer were dead, while a number of civilian hostages taken by the militants.

The Afghan Taliban has taken the responsibility for carry attacks and once again proves its ability and power to blood shed even after more than a 10-year insurgency against Western-backed government.

Day by day, insurgency incident has been increased across Afghan especially Kabul, on Afghan-NATO military posts, targeting US troops along with innocents civilians. It is likely to expect more by end of 2014 while 130,000 NATO combat troops prepare to leave Afghanistan, handling responsibility to Afghan forces.

“Our land has not been secured, our homes, our people are not safe,” President Hamid Karzai Karzai admitted in Parliament session, source said.
