As in 2008 when Toyota had recall its 20,000 units of Innova , then such amazing having multi utility, vehicle was found to be having some defect of leakage of oil, but Toyota hits in 2010 by global recall crisis at the time when more auto maker company recall their units.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited had also recalled more than 100,000 units of A-Star due to the defect in the fuel tank and Tata Motors Limited introduced additional safety equipment in Nano due to the incidents in which Nano cars caught fire.
Now once again, Toyota Motor Corporation has announced to dealing an proactive approach of recall 40,000 units of Etios and Liva. Both the cars are having the diesel and gasoline version, by this feature their demand would be so high that Growth of sale was 89% recorded in April to November, 2011.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor Private Limited (TKMPL) said, “It is a proactive approach and not a recall. The sedan Etios and hatchback Liva manufactured till 8th October 2011 will be inspected for the cracks found in the hose pipe and the fuel pipe.”
However the company Deputy Managing Director, marketing, TKM, Sandeep Singh accepted that leakages of oil in some defective parts of cars are due to their own fault, and company is deeply inspecting the cars for removing this. And all the customers are also called by the dealers to get the filler hose replaced which will not take more than 30 to 45 minutes.
Talking to Media, Sandeep Singh said, “we noticed the fault on our own and as a precautionary step, we are voluntarily inspecting the cars. The fault does not pose any threat but the cracks might lead to the leakage of fuel when the tank is full.”
He added, “The Company is not in a hurry to complete this task but can inspect the cars whenever customers visit the showrooms.”
The company is also trying to inform the customer on social media sites company’s website or Facebook , by giving information about the services at the time of such leakage problem .
