BJP behind failure on Lokpal Bill in Rajya Sabha: Govt

The Government has failed to pass Lokpal in Rajya Sabha and today it blamed the BJP as the villain in Rajya Sabha’s failure on yesterday.

The govt. accused BJP of choreographing the fiasco but get side from blaming UPA constituent Trinamool Congress which had moved several amendments.

Rajya Sabha was adjourned for ending the high drama that was made, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal claiming that the government did not want the Lokpal Bill to become a “laughing stock”.

As per the report revealed, the bill could not be passed yesterday due to as many as 187 amendments proposed by various parties.

Claiming the wrong decision of BJP party, Bansal said that the BJP made the first mistake is being voting against the Constitutional amendment in the Lok Sabha to grant constitutional status to Lokpal and the second was to give a large number of amendments to the Lokpal Bill in the Rajya Sabha.

Cyclone Thane: 7 lost their life in TN and Puducherry

The Tamil Nadu coast faced the cyclonic storm, ‘Thane’, today that resulting in death of seven persons.

This Cyclonic storm has made a huge destruction in Cuddalore and the neighboring Union Territory of Puduchery which remained cut-off from the nearby districts of the state.

In an Official report, the death of six persons was because of wall collapse and electrocution and a 45-year old man died in house collapse in Puducherry.

Beside a huge damage, the transportation suffered a lot. Train services from southern Tamil Nadu and flights to international destinations by private carriers including to Kuwait and Malaysia from Chennai were cancelled.

Anuj Bidve’s family demands emergency visa to bring back body

An application for emergency visa has been filled by the slain student Anuj Bidve’s family, who was, of 23 years old, shot dead in Manchester on Monday on Boxing Day, to bring his body back. He was a student of Microelectronics at Lancaster University.

His father and brother-in-law have been told by the Consulate General of India in Birmingham, to apply for emergency visa to expedite the process of repatriation of his body to India.

While talking to reporters, Rakesh Sonawane, Anuj’s brother-in-law said, “We have sought emergency visa and have been told that we are also required to be present in the United Kingdom to complete the procedures for handing over Anuj’s body.”

AT&T will launch first 4G LTE Windows Phones

On Thursday a report revealed that AT&T which has a much larger 4G LTE network will be the first to offer a Windows Phone with LTE device.

The AT&T will announce the launching of three LTE-enabled Windows Phone Smartphone at the Consumer Electronics Show, in early January.

Although LTE tries to compete with Google Android and Apple in the U.S. market and at present, none of the Windows Phone Smartphone support LTE device in the market.

By using this, AT&T can easily established and boost the market. That’s why Verizon Wireless and AT&T have already begun testing LTE-enabled Windows Phone devices in their labs.

The expectations are made that The Nokia ACE, HTC Radiant, and Samsung Mendel will also jump with LTE device in 2012 .Besides major investment has been made by Verizon in Google Android devices for its LTE network. It will next offer the Nokia Lumia 710 in April of next year without LTE after same announcement made by T-Mobile USA.

MP to get 50mw solar power from NTPC from 2013

An agreement regarding the supply of electricity from a 50 mw solar plant, has been proposed by State-run generation utility NTPC to Madhya Pradesh Power Trading Company (MP Tradeco).

NTPC has also tied up in form of a joint venture with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Japan’s Kyuden International Corporation (Kyushu) for generation of 500 mw from renewable sources in the next five years.

On the basis of such biggest unit agreement in the country, NTPC proposes to build the solar power plant at Rajgarh and start feeding the grid by 2013. Such the solar power deal has been decided when govt. made clarification from all Central public sector companies to set up renewable energy projects as part of efforts to boost sustainable development.

Infant mortality rate still high in Gujarat

Claiming of high medical services facility, Gujarat has still high Infant Mortality Rate (IMR).

Although State health minister Jaynarayan Vyas informed that the Gujarat govt. has been working for put control over Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) that in 2009 fell from 48 per 1,000 live births to 44 per 1,000 live births in 2010.

This record had been taken from Registrar General of India’s Sample Registration Survey Report 2010.
