Alok Joshi appointed next RAW chief

According to latest news, senior IPS officer ALok Joshi has been appointed as the news Secretary, Research and Analysis Wing head.

Alok Joshi, a 1976 batch officer of Haryana Cadre, is currently Special Secretary in RAW under the Cabinet Secretariat.

It is said that the appointments committee of Cabinet has sanctioned Joshi’s name for the post for coming two years or until further orders, in place of present incumbent S K Tripathi, on completion of his tenure on December 29, 2012.

Meanwhile, Alok Joshi has so far worked as the Intelligence Bureau and Haryana Police with important position in Nepal and Pakistan.

On the other hand, Yashovardhan Azad, IPS, MP cadre, 1976 batch, currently Special Director, Intelligence Bureau, has been named as the new Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat.

Yashovardhan Azad will head the Special Protection Group (SPG), which will work as the special security arrangements of the Prime Minister of the country, former Prime Ministers and members of their families in India as well as abroad.

Further, the ACC has also announced the name of T Y Das, IAS Assam cadre, 1982 batch, presently Joint Secretary, Ministry of DONER, as Secretary, Central Information Commission, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
