Amitabh Bachchan honoured by Australian Government

The Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan has been honoured by the Australian Government for his outstanding contribution to the Indian film industry. Indian cinema is celebrating its 100 years as well.

The superstar started his Bollywood career in 1969 with film ‘Saat Hindustani’, however, Amitabh earned name and fame with films like “Zanjeer”, “Deewar”, “Sholay”, “Don” and many more.

The 70-years-old actor is now the much respected actor and style icon for many new comers.

After receiving the awards, Amitabh Bachchan posted on his blog, “Another recognition by the Australian Government and its Commission here in Mumbai, in celebration for the 100 years of Indian Cinema, and my contribution towards fructifying the relations between the two countries… I am most humbled ..”

In 2011, Amitabh Bachchan, the National Award-winning actor, was felicitated with an honorary doctorate from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia.
