Fear of threat and chances of destruction were high while Aceh Indonesians coast hit by two strong earthquakes seemed as a killer tsunami, but this tsunami was weak having small waves less than 30 inches (80 centimetres) high .

There was no report of causalities of life and high damage, but friction and shaking with more of a vibration in the water was felt. One thing that is good that of a successful test of warning systems after the 2004 Asian tsunami by using smartphones and social media that help to prepared for quake by communicate across Asia such as Thailand and India.

A Quake of 8.6 magnitude had occurred at 2.11pm in Indonesia and within six minutes, Indian National Centre for Ocean islands detected this and issued first bulletin that cause tsunami within eight minutes, a source report said.

All Indian Ocean neighboring nations such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Mozambique and Iran, were warned under first bulletin of the earthquake in Indonesia by INCOIS.

Talking to media, Dr Satheesh C Shenoi, Director, Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), said in second bulletin, a warning had been alerted to Andaman and Nicobar’s three islands at 2.48 pm along with high alert on Tamil Nadu and Andhra coastline. And the third bulletin covered to alert Kerala at 3.38 pm and finally at 6.30 pm, all alerts were withdrawn by issuing 6th, but final bulletin.

Saying by him on Wednesday, a quake carried forward from Indonesia was raised water level of Chennai Visakhapatnam’s sea by 10 cm high while a 40 cm rise in Campbell Bay in the Nicobars.

Beside this, if we revised whole situation close to the tide gauges and tsunami signals in Indian Islands, it has showed that the changes in sea water level is unusual that can be expected due to quake effect, but tsunami would not affect Indian Ocean Islands.
