Fire broke out at Pranab venue in Hyderabad

The former Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee luckily escaped when fire broke-out during his visit to Hyderabad as a move for the presidential election.

Fire broke-out the Jubilee hall soon after Pranab Mukherjee left the hall. It is said in reports that around 200 Congress workers were present in the hall, however, no-one injured in the incident.

Talking to media, Legislative affairs minister Sridhar Babu saisd that fire happened due to short-circuit in an air conditioner at the 101-year-old hall.

He said, “It is a minor incident caused by heavy load on the AC system.”

Further, TRS leader Harish Rao said, “A Telangana state has been delayed only because of Mukherjee.”

Reports have said that around 150-odd Congress MLAs, eight MLCs, 31 Lok Sabha MPs and 18 Rajya Sabha members were present at the Hall. The former Finance Minister went to Hyderabad along with Union ministers Ghulam Nabi Azad and Vayalar Ravi.

Talking to media, Pranab Mukherjee said, “I have visited Hyderabad and other cities such as Vijayawada several times with great Congress leaders such as Srimati Indira Gandhi.”

In a press release, Pranab urged all the parties to support him who are yet to decide their vote, such as Telugu Desam Party, TRS and the YSR Congress which together account for 116 MLAs.

In addition, Pranab met with seven MLAs at a hotel wehre he stopped for lunch, the MLAs were from Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen party.
