Aarushi murder case: SC rejects Talwar’s plea to transfer case

Published on March 2, 2012 by in India News

Once again Dr Rajesh Talwar and his wife Nupur has failed in their attempt of petition as rejection made by Supreme Court, to transfer the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case from Ghaziabad to Delhi, on Friday.

The apex court said that personal inconvenience instead of having adequate security to the Talwars cannot be made a ground for transferring the case.

After being attacked Aarushi’s father Rajesh from outside the Ghaziabad court in January 2011, the Talwars couple had appealed to transfer the case from a Ghaziabad court to a Delhi court.

But the Court has completely rejected shifting the trial to Delhi, it said the couple had submitted it has been a traumatic experience for them to go to Ghaziabad to face the trial and that they also face security threat there.

However the court had cleared the decks on January 6, for the couple’s trial in the murder case by dismissing their plea to quash criminal proceedings against them.

Talwars are always being refused to present before court and now this time, an attempt by the couple seems to delay the trial.

The CBI had strongly opposed the plea at that time and after once again hearing CBI arguments over the plea, this time court rejected Talwars petition and asked them to face trial as per courts directions.
