Union minister Harish Rawat, minister of State for Agriculture and Parliamentary Affairs is said to have resign from his post and he had also send resign letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to act upon it.
Vijay Bahuguna who gave the nod to the next Chief Minister said, “This is a pressure tactic. We will handle it.”
Mr.Rawat was representing Hardwar constituency and was a strong contender for the post of Uttarakhand Chief Ministership and his move to split from the Union government came after he lost the race and the 10 Janpath overlooked his claims for the Chief Minister’s post.
This move really shocked to Mr. Rawat’s supporters who expressed their anger by raising slogans and protesting against Congress High Command’s decision to designate Mr. Bahuguna as Uttarakhand Chief Minister.
Talking about the invitation of Mr. Bahuguna’s oath, Mr. Rawat’s close aide Sabodh Unniyal, an MLA from Narendra Nagar said, “Only Bahuguna ji will take oath today.” The supporters of Mr. Rawat would boycott the swearing in ceremony of Mr. Bahuguna.
All in all, Mr. Rawat’s recent move has put Mr. Bahuguna under huge pressure and tensed situation at that time when he will be going to attend his swearing in ceremony of CM.
It is meanwhile of second time that Congress’s state unit has disapproved Mr. Rawat’s claim as like before ten years, N.D. Tiwari was made the Chief Minister at the 11th hour by the party leadership.
