There is still no relief from chilly morning in the national capital. Winter season is showing is moves as the temperature was as low as 2.9 degrees Celsius here on Sunday, making it the season’s coldest day so far.
As per the reports released by the Meteorological Department, the lowest temperature in the city was 5 degrees below normal for this time of the year, and the maximum temperature of 20.3 degrees was one degree below normal.
People in the city woke up to yet another chilly morning on Monday with the lowest temperature settling five notches below average at 3.4 degrees Celsius.
While talking to media, an official from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) office said, “A clear day lies ahead for Delhi with a cold evening.”
The highest and lowest temperatures are likely to hover around 21 and 4 degrees Celsius. Humidity stood at 93 percent.
Talking to media, a housewife in West Patel Nagar said, “We have everything in place now. Room heaters have been tested and repaired and we have stocked medicines for the elderly and children.”
Further the IMD report said, “The coldest day of the season so far has been December 25 when the minimum temperature dropped to 2.9 degrees — five notches below average.”
