Students will get Aakash tablets for Rs 1500

Aakash tablet that has launched by HRD Minister Kapil Sibal in last October, is going to be called as “world’s cheapest tablet” as its price for students will be decided only just Rs.1500.

The proposal has sent to HRD for approval, this has assured by the State Commissioner of Technical Education, S Balasubramanyam who said, “Once we get the approval, we will implement the scheme. We are planning to procure 10,000 tablets. Initially, they will be made available to the students of the state universities, engineering and polytechnic colleges.”

As per HRD, the tablet that has designed with an aim to bridge the “digital divide” between the rich and the poor and with cutting price as subsidiary, the government has aimed to provide the tablets in private college and university, which will be available for rent for students who cannot afford them.
