This month may be Kolkata’s Airtel citizens experience 4G service technology as Bharti Airtel has reportedly said that it has tie up with ZTE Corporation to manage its 4G network in Kolkata that support video streaming and high-definition video conferencing.
Talking to reporters, Bharti Airtel CEO Sanjay Kapoor said, “According to industry estimates, by 2016, six per cent of all mobile connections will have 4G connection, which would create 36 per cent of the total mobile data traffic, thus paving way for the ensuing data revolution.”

Govt’s new Telecom Policy sets 8% fee
The investors of telecom firms have a good news that now all the past months hurdles that dogged telecom sector have now being removed after Govt’s new telecom policy new telecom policy welcomed as a step forward.
A new telecom policy will have some norms of a uniform licence fee and making spectrum tradable at market-linked rates, to which the government should move with some exceptions in the right direction.
The policy has dealt with some recommendations of the sector regulator like restriction on 3G Spectrum sharing is one such area. As per key policy measures, telcos operating will be allowed to share 2G spectrum and all future allocation of airwaves will only be through auctions. HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel and M&M are the losers as the BSE Sensex slipped as much as 0.3 per cent early on Wednesday.
Rakesh Gandhi, Sr Technical Analyst of LKP Securities Ltd , reported ,”The 50-share Nifty index closed near its important support level of 4780 and if the index sustains above this level it will add further to the momentum.”
Indicating the current movement of Nifty, He further said, “From here, the current up move could once again weaken only if Nifty breaks below 4680 and from a trading perspective one can use declines to buy and exit if this level is broken on closing basis.”

Once again a big fire broke out in Bharti Airtel centre at Malad around 2.30am. This is the second case in 3 years that disrupted the Airtel telecom services.
First time a fire broke out at Peninsula tower in July 2008 and it had taken a month to restore the network snag.
On the basis of data, around estimated 36 lakh customers are across the state’s western region. And they all were missed by the services.

Today, the three most leading telecom company Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea will have to give their response to DoT telecom department, after receiving cancellation of 3G roaming notice on yesterday.
Time period that has given by Telecom Ministry to these three telecom firms is of 24 hours , and they must respond to its notice by 3pm on Today, either in its favour or not .
The actual fact is that Airtel, Vodafone and Idea are having 3G services on each other airwaves but not have 3G spectrum in that circles, because they could not succeed in getting spectrum in the auction held last year.

According to the fresh reports, Bharti Airtel, India’s one of the leading mobile phone carrier, has recently announced that the company has reached a landmark of around 50 million customers in Africa, where it acquired mobile operations in 15 nations in a $9 billion deal in June 2010.
At present, the company operates in total 19 nations across Asia and Africa and is the world’s fifth-biggest mobile operator by subscribers.
In the meantime, Bharti Airtel has an internal goal to have 100 million customers in Africa by the end of March 2013.
