map mp 300x216 GPRS system in MP to check PDS pilferageOn Tuesday, Madhya Pradesh government has taken a decision to check PDS pilferage of food grains.

However to give the result for it Govt. decided to install Global Positioning System (GPS) instruments, a space-based satellite navigation system that provide information on specific location and time also.

The developer of this system is Unites States defence department. They developed it for military navigation in 1973.

Now the Madhya Pradesh government will think about usage for it on vehicles that transporting food grains, sugar and kerosene under the public distribution system, which help to keep track records and to accurate check on irregularities.

Narottam Mishra, a spokesman for the government and minister for health explained, “A truck load of food grains is sent to the PDS shop in a particular village. But later we receive reports of the food grains not having reached there at all. The GPS will keep a close watch on each of the location of these vehicles transporting rations to minimize risks of misplacement and theft.”

Beside this, double increment in the salary of Anganwadi workers and assistants has been decided by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s govt. Apart of it, Govt. also decided to provide murmure (puffed rice) for children in Anganwadis instead of cooked breakfast.

The Madhya Pradesh govt. is taking massive action regarding the children and women development.

It further approved the draft rules for horticulture and food processing units and this will be made on a 30-year lease and priority will be given to those industrialists belonging to scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, women and disabled categories in the allotment.
